[/column_half] [column_half_last]Located on the Pacific coast of Mexico in the largest bay, Puerto Vallarta maintains the charm and integrity of colonial Mexico and does not look or feel like a typical beach resort. Historically Puerto Vallarta was a fishing village which expanded in the ‘60s and 70s due to the cool breezes of downtown and its warm and charming people.
Puerto Vallarta is uniquely situated in a region that is diversely rich geographically and from a climate perspective. Across the beach lie lush gardens where the movie “Predator” was filmed. Fifteen minutes further South is the low Sierra which is a rich coffee growing region. From this coffee growing region within 15 minutes, you are in the high Sierras. Nowhere on earth will you find such diversity within a 45 minute drive.
There are famous small mountain villages Talpalpa and Mazamitla that are rich in history, culture and the advent of tequila, in the town of Tequila. These towns are less than 2 hours driving time from Puerto Vallarta.
Within the city limits of Puerto Vallarta are several rivers and beach spots oozing with tremendous Mexican restaurants. A few of the more famous sites are Calleta Islands, one of Jacques Cousteau’s favorite diving spots, as well as all along the peninsula, small towns that are still rich in fishing village history. While rich in history, Puerto Vallarta also offers all the modern conveniences. This makes for a uniquely wonderful site for studies and exploration.[/column_half_last]

Volunteering Options: As a work volunteer students will have the opportunity to gain bi-lingual work skills. This gives our participants a competitive advantage while seeking employment in the United States.
One on One Instruction: Students work one-on-one with their own instructor based on their level of Spanish. Hands on activities and creative games are used to help learn. Our Spanish academic programs can be created for school credit or non-credit. Classes can be also offered for grades or pass/fail. This is all contingent upon your college program.
The participants traveling to Guatemala will spend a majority of their time in Antigua, a historic city with well-preserved Spanish Baroque influenced architecture and cobblestone streets. This colonial city boasts tourism with many places to visit such as museums of architecture and religious monuments like the Hill of the Cross surrounded by tranquility and natural beauty. Visit the Museum “La Azotea” to see three distinct museums during this visit: one of Mayan music, where you experience the sounds the Mayans used for their ceremonies; the second of the coffee process and its exportation from Guatemala; and finally a small Jade factory where you can make purchases. Chichicastenango market is famous for its market on Thursdays and Sundays where vendors sell handicrafts and textiles. Lake Atitlan is an ultimate high for hopeless romantics and adventurers. Atitlán is recognized to be the deepest lake in Central America with a maximum depth of 340 meters. The lake basin supports extensive coffee growth and a variety of farm crops, most notably corn. The weather of Antigua is wonderful year-round. Average temperatures range mostly between 60-75 degrees Fahrenheit. No trip would be complete without a day at the lovely Monterrico beach. It is the most popular beach in Guatemala and its black sand is gorgeous but heats up quickly due to its volcanic nature.
Program: Enjoy the combination of learning in the language and culture of Antigua Guatemala. We offer the unique capability of simultaneously immersing yourself in the culture and language of the country you are traveling in. The program is offered in a Spanish Immersion institute where you will be immersed in school and family life of a typical family in Antigua to complement your language and cultural adventure. Antigua offers one on one Spanish immersion lessons which is the best way to learn Spanish. Day trips are added to complete the geographical orientation of the trip. This is a great educational experience.
Customized Programs: Colleges and universities have the option to create the academic programs for their school. Some schools elect to bring their own faculty to teach core transferrable courses while offering credit or non-credit Spanish classes. The Spanish is taught in a one-on-one setting. The core courses are taught by the American professors in a traditional classroom setting. This exclusive arrangement permits American institutions to fulfill their academic requirements while at the same time this process allows for cultural and language immersion. Our intention is for you to build a unique successful academic program defined by you.
Accommodations: Staying with a Guatemalan family is an integral part of the program because it provides students with a unique opportunity to experience first-hand Guatemalan hospitality and culture. Families are carefully selected in advance and are supervised throughout your stay. Most homes are within walking distance of the school facilities and near public transportation. Family housing programs include accommodations and three meals per day, except on Sundays.

Today Cuzco is an Andean metropolis with 350,000 inhabitants. One of its main attractions is the architecture, mirroring the rich history of the city. It bears witness to the flowering of the Inka culture and the violent intrusion of the Spanish conquerors over 500 years ago.
Cuzco’s surrounding hills and valleys, strewn with eucalyptus trees, are ideal for walking and hiking in beautiful nature. On your way, you can explore Inca ruins, watch lamas graze and see the farmers from the small villages around Cuzco go about their daily business in their adobe houses or on their plots of land. The contrast between city and countryside, as well as between rich and poor is enormous. But it is exactly this coexistence of different South American life realities that makes staying in Cuzco so fascinating.
As the starting point for the journey to Machu Picchu, Cuzco is well equipped to cater for the desires and needs of its international visitors. It has over 300 hotels and many clubs and bars, where you can hear life bands and dance wildly to Latino rhythms.
Cuzco is the perfect place to discover South American mentality and lust for life: its many festivals and ceremonies will keep you from being bored. Staying in Cuzco, you will discover more about Peru and its way of everyday life.
