Travel to Cuba GEF People to People Mission
For the last 20 years Global Educational Facilitation has prided itself on creating high quality and well priced programs to countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Guatemala and Peru that have created self awareness as well as how we fit into our own global village. Our focus has been community college, university programs as well as unique custom made programs that touch the language and culture of our host country.
Whether or programs have been general or medical Spanish immersion in Mexico, cultural tours to Cuba, photography programs in Antigua Guatemala,our clients have touched the people and culture of the countries that they have traveled to. I have received many unsolicited thank you letters as well as happenings of former students.
On a recent tour with 10 presidents from colleges of the state of Illinois we planned on how we can create a business incubation center in Havana and work with Cubans to create and expand their newly formed businesses under the changes in the law that Raul Castro has made.
One student moved to Brazil and is now an international banker another student was motivated to go to medical school in Cuba, many people have written how their life perspective has shifted now that they are back in the home environment. Many continue to pursue the mastery of the Spanish language!
President Obama recently expended the opportunity for more people to people contact and programs in Cuba. We have facilitated cartoonists, Spanish speakers, and many nonprofit groups with different missions. All of these programs have a commonality in that they are touching the people of Cuba’s hearts as well as our own.
